Capitalizing on the Women’s Biking Trend

It has been about a year now that we have been hearing and reading about the famous bike trend, either by the surge of luxury or customized bike models or the sports that are becoming more popular, like Bike Polo.
In any case, it is now that fashion companies are beginning to capitalize on the trend. Here is a list of some of them, from high fashion to fast fashion (images above):

Celine Bicyclette collection, Phoebe Philo’s first collection for the house comes out in July.
Topshop enlisting Cyclodelic, a London design duo, to bring fashionable cycling clothes as Sir Phillip Green sees it as a market gap to fill.
Club Monaco and Gazelle collaboration with “the fashion” coming soon
A marketing product:
Chain-L No 5. Bicycle Chain Oil

High fuel prices = Less driving = Alternative means of transportation (Bikes) = More bike riding = A need for nice accessories and clothes to do so with.

Personally I have never had an issue biking with the clothes I wear normally weather it is high heel shoes or a skirt, but for the safety conscious I agree they should have options. My one recommendation would be good undergarments for short skirts. I had a friend who wore black spandex shorts when she rode her bike, the site of them was quite shocking, a bad shock.
