French Touch- Serge Gainsbourg

For all of those who cannot go see the Gainsbourg 2008 exhibition at the Cité de la musique here are videos from the major music periods of his career as catalogued by the museum. The exhibition layout is made up of a series of pods with the different eras of his life which are accompanied by the text explaining his inspiration and references, and videos of course.
He has been deemed many negative things but the very touching article from Vanity Fair “The Secret World of Serge Gainsbourg” explains him in another light. To say the least, and though he though it was arrogant to name anyone a genius, he truly was one.

Serge Gainsbourg was consodered a mastermind of the movement, as he wrote most of the songs performed by the yé-yé bunch, but did not quite have a yé-yé attitude himself.
