A l’occasion de la sortie du livre THE RAVEN de Lou Reed (éditions du Seuil), notre petite galerie préférée du quartier va présenter les illustrations de LORENZO MATTOTTI !
Un univers très sombre, inquiétant. Et pourtant, ces images sont très poétiques .
Ses dessins me rappelle mon enfance. Je ne sais pas si vous souvenez du Roi et l’Oiseau… Je ne sais pas vraiment pourquoi.

To pay homage to the bicentenary of the birth of the famous author Edgard Allan Poe composer and artist Lou Reed has teemed up with illustrator Lorenzo Mattotti in the new book
“the Raven” based in Poe’s famous narrative poem.
The text in the book is based in spectacle and record composed by Read in 2003 tittle “The Raven”(Warner). The text poses the question of what is it that can attract us to the dark side and self destruction. The universe of obsession and paranoia come vividly to life in the gory illustrations which and are reminiscent of the one of the most famous dark characters in film, Murnau’s Nosferatu .
The book is available for sale at Colette, Reed had a signing there on Monday. If you missed it, today you have chance to see some fantastic illustration and meet the man who wrote “Perfect Day“. Sight.
