The 80s - the decade that is here to stay, it seems forever
Marc Jacobs continued his 80s love affair (LV’s Sprouse Special Collection) and showed a collection that came out right out of that decade.

I cannot say that look is new or revolutionary specially when it is taking so literally, but the quotes Marc Jacobs gave for the inspiration for this collection are very interesting.
“The collection is all about clubbing in the 80’s, when New Yorkers could have fun, be creative. Not like now…”
“when creative people could afford to live in this city,” and he looked ecstatic at the prospect that “it might be happening again.” He sites creativity, and a very vibrant, creative, party filled New York that he was part of in the 80s.
Perhaps it was a nostalgia collection.
Update: And according to Suzy Menkes, about hope, as well. “Marc Jacobs offers the audacity of hope”

When I saw the collection I automatically though if La Roux which I have had on re-play. She would be perfect for his campaign. Her look and music it’s just so what he showed yesterday. Her round glasses in the Going in For the Kill video are for sure a trend to watch! I am pretty sure they are the same sunglasses showed at the very 80s Proenza Schouler Summer collection.

La Roux will be performing for the Petit Bateau x KITSUNE MAISON EN VRAI! # 2 this Friday, Februay 20th in Paris.
