L’artiste anglais d’origine indienne ANISH KAPOOR vient de remporter une commission pour le design d’une sculpture de 115m qui sera construite à l’occasion des Jeux Olympiques de LONDRES en 2012.
La structure a été mise au point avec l’ingénieur Cecil Balmond de Arup
Ce sera la plus grande sculpture jamais construite en Angleterre.
L’objet sera nommé ArcelorMittal Orbit


Anish Kapoor a déclaré: ‘I am deeply honoured to be invited to undertake this challenging commission. I am particularly attracted to it because of the opportunity to involve members of the public in a particularly close and personal way. It is the commission of a lifetime.’
